Abstract
The article examines the primary purpose of patent laws in the U.S. Topics discussed include the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the case 'Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank International' in which the court held that the simple ideas are not patentable simply because they are done on a computer; impact of the decision on the non-practicing entities; and laws related to software and business method patents.
