Abstract
The article presents a study of the relevance of dual target real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays for the detection of rtxA and cpn60 genes of paediatric pathogen Kingella kingae, focusing on the clinical and epidemiological aspects of K. kingae infetions in Denmark. It shows the association between the dual target K. kingae real-time PCR and increased diagnostic yield of K. kingae infections, with significant seasonal variation in patients with proven K. kingae infection.
