Abstract
The article presents an interview with Special Assistant to the Executive Director for Minority Concerns and Development of the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC), Doctor Robert Y. Fuchigami about the desire of the CEC to expand its involvement in the critical issues of minority concerns in the United States. Minority children constitute a majority percentage of the handicapped population. The CEC uses the outcomes of conferences to exert its influence in the outcome of decisions concerning handicapped children. Doctor Fuchigami plans in the future to develop a talent bank of professionals, available for school districts.
