Abstract
The article reports on the primary satellite method for estimating maximum sustained wind (MSW) in tropical cyclones based on cloud pattern recognition from visible and infrared satellite images. The Dvorak technique most-successful method for estimating tropical cyclone intensity where aircraft reconnaissance is not available.
