Abstract
The article focuses on the information technology-related waste problems in Japan. The use of products related to information technology like cell phones, personal computers is growing very fast in the country. Around 70,000 used cell phones are discarded each day by Japanese and that is not because of any problem in the equipment but just because the users are fed up with them. The computers and telecommunication equipment are causing a great amount of waste and thus are measure problem for environment. These waste contain a number of hazardous non-biodegradable substances like plastics, lead, cadmium, mercury and others.
