Abstract
Examines four commercially formulated biocontrol agents for their ability to reduce damping-off and root rot caused by Pythium aphanidermatum in growth-chamber and greenhouse cucumber trials conducted over two consecutive years to identify the most effective agents. Finding that the most effective biocontrol agent was Gliocladium catenulatum; Use of mycelial fragments as inoculum which was satisfactory in achieving consistent disease severity and easier manipulation than oospores or sporangial inoculum.
