Abstract
The article informs about the Salmonella detection in commercially prepared livestock feed and the raw ingredients and equipment used to manufacture the feed. Topics include industrialized animal production systems rely on formulated mixed animal feed produced in commercial feed mills; and food for both human and animal consumption can provide a vehicle for the transfer of antimicrobial resistant bacteria that serve as microbial reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance genes.
