Abstract
The PRWORA legislation of 1996 encourages partnerships between faith-based groups and government agencies in providing services to families leaving welfare for work. Although this has led to an increase in the provision of faith-based social services, there is a lack of published research concerning best practices. The findings presented in this article concern the training and support that congregation members need in order to work successfully with families in this population. The article concludes with a discussion of implications for future practice and research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
