Abstract
This document is a response to a letter regarding a paper titled "The global burden of disease due to benign gynecological conditions: A call to action." The authors of the paper acknowledge that the highest years lived with disability (YLDs) are found in the "Other Gynecological Conditions" (OGC) category due to data availability issues. They explain that the grouping of conditions in the OGC category is a pragmatic approach, and there are plans to disaggregate the data in future iterations. The authors also discuss the importance of considering morbidity in relation to conditions like tuberculosis (TB), malaria, and HIV/AIDS, as well as the need to address the increasing morbidity secondary to benign gynecological conditions as maternal mortality declines. The purpose of their analysis and publication is to stimulate discussion and raise awareness about the impact of benign gynecological conditions on women globally. [Extracted from the article]
