Abstract
Describes the inoculation of susceptible lambs with triple-infected blood in order to monitor the occurrence of variants during an Anaplasma phagocytophilum infection. Three variants of A. phagocytophilum; Survival of a single genetic variant of the rickettsia; Earlier descriptions of infection (superinfection) exclusion by Soller and Epstein (1965).
