Abstract
The article discusses the 2004 report by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) on U.S. cancer incidence and the number of persons diagnosed with cancer who were still alive on January 1, 2007. The report says that the number of cancer survivors increased from 9.8 million in 2001 to 11.7 million in 2007. The results also show that breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers were the most common types of cancers among survivors.
