Abstract
The article focuses on the medical treatment called endovascular stenting. It discusses the case of a woman who had a history of recurring breast cancer and was diagnosed with an obstructed superior vena cava. The technology used in the diagnosis of vena cava obstruction is described, including contrast enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance venography. The use of stents to relieve symptoms in the particular breast cancer patient is examined. The cost, potential complications, and benefits of the procedure are described and the possible need for further research on the topic is explored.
