Abstract
Considers patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) and the association of the development of Stevens-Johnson (SJS) syndrome with nevirapine. The increased risk and possibility of developing severe mucocutaneous drug reactions; The medications that have been associated with SJS and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) in HIV-infected patients; The most common cause of SJS and TEN being sulphonamide drugs.
