This article discusses the use of the drug tofacitinib in pregnant women with ulcerative colitis (UC). Tofacitinib has been shown to be effective in treating UC, but its safety during pregnancy is uncertain. The article presents two cases from a registry of pregnant women with inflammatory bowel disease who received tofacitinib. In both cases, the women had positive outcomes, with one giving birth to a healthy baby and the other experiencing a preterm delivery with a baby who had a minor birth defect.
