Abstract
Pemphigus vulgaris is a bullous autoimmune disease affecting the skin and mucous membranes, which can be triggered or induced by illicit drugs.[1] We report a case pemphigus vulgaris in a cocaine-abusing patient. A 5-mm punch biopsy of the oral mucosa showed intraepidermal vesicle formation with suprabasal acantholysis (Fig. a) and perivascular lymphocytes. 70% of patients with drug-induced pemphigus have circulating antibodies against Dsg1 and/or Dsg3.
