Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 63-year-old woman who was diagnosed with a Dukes C2 adenocarcinoma in the sigmoid colon. The patient was subjected to colonoscopy, in which a pink adenomatous polyp and a dark brown mucosa were detected. Histology sections confirmed that the patient has pseudomelanosis coli in the gastrointestinal mucosa. It adds that the patient's condition is linked with persistent use of laxatives which contain anthraquinone.
