Abstract
The article examines a Demotic Legal Code of Hermopolis West papyrus recorded in the time of the pharaoh Ptolemy II Philadelphus in 285-246 B.C., which contains a collection of Egyptian laws including regulations relating to rain. Topics include an stipulation in the document analyzed by archaeologist Aneta Skalec on how to handle complaint about rainwater discharged from a neighbor's roof and her argument on the rainwater drainage systems in ancient Egyptian houses described in the legal code.
