Abstract
The article focuses on the integration of geographic information systems (GIS) with business systems like enterprise resource planning (ERP). It notes that GIS works with keyhole markup language (KML). It states that location applications for smartphone-application are apparent, wherein Skyhook Wireless Inc., a location-based service provider recognized 4,000 location-based application for the Apple iPhone App Store. It also highlights the location-based applications developed by some companies.
