Abstract
The article discusses the rational approach that is currently being used for the management of patients with recurrent or persistent ovarian carcinoma. The characteristics of the disease help in dividing the patients into two types, which is then used for forming different populations of the patients with different risk levels and stages of the disease. The analyses of the background of the patients help in choosing from the available systematic therapies, such as ICON 4 and CALYPSO trial.
