Abstract
The article offers information on the Occult hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection (OBI). Topics discussed include defined as the presence of circulating HBV DNA in the absence of detectable HBV surface antigen (HBsAg); and mentions the rate of occurrence of OBI in blood donors varies by region, and its detection is highly dependent on the lower limit of detection of the HBV DNA assay applied.
