Abstract
The article presents a case study of Guinean Savanna ecoregion of West Africa, examining the land tenure system based on the facts of the World Bank's 2009 Competitive Commercial Agriculture for Africa (CCAA) report. It discusses the possibilities of development in Africa due to steady economic growth, increased interest of foreign and domestic investors, and availability of technology and also focuses on the precolonial and British colonial influences on the land tenure system.
