Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the synthetic metabolic pathway in which formolase helps in the assimilation of formate into a glycolytic intermediate in Escherichia coli. It mentions that results demonstrate how computational enzyme design can expand the metabolic pathway design. Topics include discovery of nine one-carbon fixation pathways including Calvin-Benson cycle, biological conversion of formate, and activation of formate into methylenetetrahydrofolate.
