Abstract
The article focuses on the field testing of the Active Temperature, Ozone and Moisture Microwave Spectrometer (ATOMMS) which is developed as a satellite-to-satellite occultation system for monitoring climate. It notes that the field test is centered on the remote sensing of water by assessing the attenuation caused by the 22 gigahertz (GHz) and 183 GHz water absorption lines. It reveals that the ATOMMS amplitude measurements attribute approximately 0.3 percent errors.
