Abstract
The article focuses on the study that tests the hypothesis that hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) 2 modulates the induction of autophagy by chondrocytes. Based on the data gathered, it is found that HIF-2 is a potent regulator of autophagy that involves in maturing chondrocytes. It is argued that such protein would act as a brake on the autophagy-accelerator function of HIF-1.
