Abstract
The article discusses the expression of different isoforms of the FOXP3 gene in human CD4+ T cells. FOXP3 is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in the development and function of regulatory T cells. The study found that the full-length FOXP3 isoform (FOXP3fl) is predominantly expressed in the thymus and stimulated CD4+ T cells. This finding suggests that the control of T-cell functions by FOXP3 may depend on the timely processing of FOXP3 transcripts. The study also highlights the importance of FOXP3 exon 2 in Treg-cell development and the potential implications for autoimmune diseases. [Extracted from the article]
