Abstract
The article discusses a study of the impact of a two-step interdisciplinary quality nutrition program which includes the implementation of an intensive care unit (ICU) nutrition protocol and presence of an ICU dietitian. The study involved ICU patients at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) in France from 2005 to 2007. Results showed an improvement in nutritional management due to the protocol. The importance of the integration of a protocol into the daily local practice is emphasized.
