Abstract
The article presents a profile of the late fisheries scientist Steven Berkeley whose memory is being honored through the Steven Berkeley Marine Conservation Fellowship. Topics discussed include Berkeley's passion for fish and fishing, the start of his career as a research scientist, and his collaboration with fishermen to improve fishing practices and marine conservation. Also discussed are his involvement with the American Fisheries Society and history of creation of the fellowship.
