Abstract
The article describes the case of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for life-threatening antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis with pulmonary hemorrhage in a 56-year-old White male. Topics discussed include the patient history of malaise, myalgia and night sweats for three months, role of his refractory hypoxia in the decision to maintain the patient on ECMO for nine days, and importance of early recognition of diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH) in the case.
