Abstract
It was found that treatment of KNbO with nitric acid leads to the formation of KHNbO, which has enhanced photocatalytic activity in the production of hydrogen. The highest rate of release of H in the investigated systems is achieved after treatment of KNbO with nitric acid for 10 h, which corresponds to complete transformation of the initial niobate in the KHNbO. It was shown that the production of hydrogen with KHNbO as photocatalyst can be realized with a comparably low content of electron donor. The effect of a series of factors on the rate of photocatalytic release of H in such systems was determined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
