Abstract
MIG welding is an appropriate process to join stainless steel. In present thesis work the effect of welding paramters on mechanical properties i.e. Hardness of stainless steel 304 is observed and to optimize the parameters using the Taguchi method. Hardness test was done using Vickers Hardness Machine. During welding heating affects produced at the particular area, which is needed to melt, without this heating effect the welding is a difficult. In case of welding when current is on the electrodes allow the current to flow through, so as a result at the tip heating effect is generated, results in creating weld pool. In that area where weld pool is generated as the time passes cooling effect is there at the weld pool, which results in solidification. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
