Abstract
The article presents the speech by Bruce Singh, professor of Psychiatry and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at University of Melbourne, Victoria delivered at the 2008 college address at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), in which he reflected his 40 years of involvement in community and politics in psychiatry, the assumptions on the psychotropic drugs, and mental health reform in Victoria.
