Abstract
The article studied the levels of circulating microparticles (MPs) in pregnant women who have primary anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS) and the risk of pregnancy complications. It presents the results of the exploratory study which measured the levels of different MP types in APS patients in all three trimesters to assess the risk of pregnancy complications and thrombosis. Results revealed high MP levels in pregnant patients with APS and thus provided evidence for the use of MPs as biomarkers.
