Abstract
Interventions that target caregiver wellbeing are important to potentially reduce caregiver hospitalization and prevent subsequent poor outcomes for the PLWD. DISCUSSION In this initial study of linking spousal caregivers to PLWD from the EHR, we found that a caregiver hospitalization was significantly associated with an increased risk of hospitalization for PLWD in the subsequent 180 days. Caregiver hospitalizations were included as time-varying covariates in counting process models,[19] and only the first 180 days after a caregiver hospitalization were considered as high risk in these analyses.
