Abstract
We describe the design, operation, and performance of a light-weight, long-hold-time [sup 3]He cryostat used to cool the bolometric detectors of a far-infrared radiometer. A small internally pumped [sup 3]He reservoir, supported by [sup 4]He and liquid-nitrogen baths, is maintained at 0.25 K for more than a week.
