Abstract
The article presents a reprint of Kathleen Shannon's article on the lessons she learned during her tenure as executive producer of the National Film Board's (NFB) Studio D, which appeared in the summer 1995 issue of the magazine. Topics mentioned include the pressure facing the NFB regarding the status of women, the film studio's mandates including the provision of employment opportunities for women, and the advantage and disadvantage of the expansion of the base of staff filmmakers.
