Abstract
We tested the Spanish smRSq in 35 stroke survivors living in rural Ecuador.[3] Two independent mRS-certified raters had only a moderate 46% agreement on the smRSq, k = 0.32, and k SB w sb = 0.51. Review of the smRSq answers and clinical information suggested a culturally and gender-based tendency to misunderstand the intent of the first smRSq question regarding functional independence.
