The article discusses the memories African American Women about racial oppression and separation in the U.S. South and its relevance to multicultural education. The country is rich with the stories of the diverse groups that make up the country as a multicultural society. Several stories survive through resistance in the face of a status quo that marginalizes, and often silences, their telling thus diminishing their truths.
