Abstract
The article presents information on the efficiency of weight loss or bariatric surgery in treating type 2 diabetes. It is mentioned that a duodenal-jejunal bypass (DJB) was carried out on rats induced with diabetes and it was found that it lowered blood glucose concentrations as delivery of nutrients to the jejunum increased without increase in insulin secretion.
