Abstract
The article reports on the status of the implementation of newborn hepatitis B virus vaccination among newborns worldwide. To track vaccination coverage worldwide, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) made use of the Joint Reporting Form. In 2006, a total of 162 countries introduced the vaccine into their national infant immunization schedules. A total of 27% of newborns received the vaccine birth dose worldwide during the period.
