Abstract
The treatment of complete oesophageal stricture, defined as no identifiable lumen on endoscopic evaluation, is challenging and may necessitate surgical correction, which represents a devastating treatment-related complication for the patient. Herein we present successful treatment of a complete pharyngo-oesophageal stricture after restoration of a neo-pharyngo-oesophageal lumen via a modified MCA method in a patient with larynx cancer. A study revealed an ELR success rate of 93% among 30 patients with obstructive aphagia due to complete lumen occlusion, primarily after chemoradiation therapy for head/neck cancer.
