Abstract
This article reflects on an apparent need for steps to eliminate lead poisoning. The urgency of controlling lead at the source is underscored by the difficulty of cleaning it up once it contaminates the environment. Lead poisoning remains a serious environmental health hazard in the U.S. despite impressive progress. Most lead poisoning in the U.S. are accounted by two distinct scenarios, paint deterioration because of poor maintenance and repainting projects that fail to control and clean up lead dust.
