Abstract
Impedance spectroscopy is used for different melts of steel 09GSF to show the difference in behavior of steel with and without hydrogenation. An equivalent circuit is proposed describing satisfactorily the impedance spectra obtained, and its parameters R, R, R, CPE_dl are determined. A correlation is found between steel susceptibility to hydrogen cracking (CLR) and impedance parameters R and R. Values of R and R increase linearly with an increase in CLR. The possibility is demonstrated of using impedance spectroscopy for evaluating steel susceptibility towards hydrogenation and hydrogen cracking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
