Abstract
The article provides an overview of the solar occultation measurement strategy. Methods to retrieve atmospheric temperature as a function of pressure (T (P)) with the use of refraction and broadband transmittance are discussed. Investigations with the use of measurements of refractive bending and broadband transmittance in two carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption bands are highlighted.
