Abstract
The article offers news briefs related to the U.S. Civil War. Filmakers Tony and Ridley Scott have collaborated with the cable channel History to produce a new film titled "Gettysburg." The Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee has announced its plan to preserve a treasure trove of Civil War writing, maps and artifacts compiled by historian Shelby Foote. A woman from Tennessee has returned a .35-caliber Spiller & Burr revolver lifted from the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, Virginia.
