Abstract
Investigates the existence of carbonate algal bioherms in upper Pleistocene saline lakes of the central Altiplano of Bolivia. Diversity of the distribution, size and shape of the bioherms due to various factors; Growth of cyanobacterial communities; Decline in lake level during interlacustrine stages.
