Abstract
The article discusses the concept of the hero's journey, a narrative structure found in many ancient legends and modern stories. The authors conducted a study and found that individuals who framed their own lives as heroic quests reported a greater sense of meaning and well-being. They developed a "restorying" intervention that encouraged participants to retell their life stories as hero's journeys, which resulted in increased feelings of meaningfulness and resilience. The authors suggest that anyone can frame their life as a hero's journey and take small steps towards a more heroic life, which can lead to a better story and personal growth.
