Abstract
Mobile teledermoscopy allows users to capture and send images of skin lesions from home to a clinician using a dermatoscope attached to a smartphone's camera.[1] This could be used to triage people into services quicker and improve prognosis,[2] leading to health cost savings.[3] However, between 5% and 20% of images sent by consumers are of insufficient quality,[[1], [4]] deeming them unusable for remote diagnosis. Can people take high-quality images using mobile dermatoscopes at home on easy-to-see and difficult-to-see body areas? Development of a checklist tool to assess the quality of skin lesion images acquired by consumers using sequential mobile teledermoscopy. [Extracted from the article]
