Laparoscopic resection of a giant colonic diverticulum - the "lifting balloon" sign - a video vignette As in a previously reported case of laparoscopic resection [5], a lateral to medial approach was performed due to signs of diverticulitis that were found in the lateral diverticulum margin; these were taken down with blunt dissection and monopolar scissors.
