Abstract
The article discusses evidence-based medicine and bias in reporting clinical trials on psychotropic drugs. A study revealed that antidepressant trials which showed negative effectiveness are infrequently reported in the medical literature. It explores the results of a study on several court documents to examine company practices of guest authorship, ghostwriting and financial disclosures in clinical trials. The author emphasizes the need for precautionary actions by medical journals to guarantee the accuracy and transparency of reports.
