Abstract
This article discusses a case of cutaneous erysipeloid leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania infantum in Morocco. The patient, a 46-year-old farmer, initially presented with swelling of the left lower eyelid and was treated for chronic dacryocystitis. However, the dermatological examination revealed an erysipeloid erythematous placard on the face. The diagnosis of cutaneous leishmaniasis was confirmed, and the patient was treated with antimony salts and metronidazole, showing partial improvement. The article highlights the evolving epidemiological situation of leishmaniasis in Morocco and the atypical erysipeloid form of the disease. The authors emphasize the importance of considering cutaneous leishmaniasis in the diagnosis of unusual facial lesions resembling erysipelas. [Extracted from the article]
